Rachel and a classmate from Pepper Tree Elementary School were invited by their principal, Mrs. Ward, to conduct the Upland School Board's flag salute. It was really neat to see our daughter so composed in a public speaking role. I am happy to see the district encourage patriotism in a time when patriotism is not always fashionable.
